Guess I Won't Be Needing This Icon Anymore

Addison was the only reason I started watching Grey's and Maddison was the only I continued to watch Grey's.  I totally just wanted to hug Mark tonight (for reasons other than feeling him up), and I think Addison's getting what she deserves for being all iffy about Mark and sleeping with an intern.  In an on-call room.  It's slutty.  She doesn't deserve Mark if she's gonna be all stupid, especially when he was apparently ready to commit and the man she "wants" him to be.  And don't even get me started on this whole spin-off, "I want a baby" bullshit.  Though, since Addison is leaving and I have no intention of watching her Mark-less spin-off, it does free up an hour of my Thursday nights, so, that's a plus.

And no woman better come within 10 feet of Mark if she values her kneecaps.  Seriously.

And are the writers really sure Meredith didn't belong "there"? 'Cuz, personally, I really wish she did.  Then Addie wouldn't need her own show.  Wouldn't that be nice?

My car and I are not on good terms.

Apparently the universe is very against me having a profit of good things in my life lately.  See, two days ago, I found a pair of jeans that fit really well and were on sale and were Levi's (my favorite kind).  So, good right? Yeah, until yesterday when my snow globe got here from Disney, and it's chipped so I  have to send it back.  And then the gas station was really busy and my car is kinda hard to see out of, so I scraped the passenger side so it now sports one giant dent, four little ones, and a significant amount of tan paint.  Then I was backing out of my driveway, trying to go uphill but my car didn't wanna, so I put it in reverse to back it down the hill and buried it in the snow bank behind my driveway.  Took three of us to get it out.  It's been a great couple of days.

I'm withholding judgment on Grey's Anatomy last night until the second part next week (or, I guess, in three weeks since I'm going to Disney World!::giggle::) when they tell us what's really going on with Mark and Addison and the whole baby conversation they showed in the previews; cuz if it's what it sounded like, I would be totally disappointed in Addison and have a hard time liking her, let alone respecting her.  So, I hope it's not like what it sounded like because I have about $50 tied up in the first two season dvds.

I shouldn't say "I told you so"...

but I will.  I told you so.  Putting a rookie in at QB mid-season just because he had a stellar pre-season against second-strings is not a formula for success.  I'm not going to judge Cutler's entire career based on this one performance (or this one half-season), but he damn well better not be a dud after all this bullshit.  And let's have a round of applause for Jake Plummer for not being an asshole about the whole thing when most of those losses were not even his fault.  Also, let's have s'more booing for the defense, the receivers, and the running game for sucking at least as bad as Jake.  Y'all suck.  And thanks for screwing the rest of the season (and possibly next) with this rookie QB crap.  Jerks.

And I never did get around to Grey's Anatomy commentary last week, and now I'm bored with it, so it will be short and

And with the snow on the ground and the full moon last night, I could see the mountains at 10 o'clock at night.  It was very strange.  And I'm almost sick.  It sucks.

Jake Plummer sucks and so does Grey's Anatomy

D-Statler-Waldorf
Well, since the Broncos lost to the Chiefs last night 19-10, we can all pretty much kiss the playoffs goodbye. But, I suppose since Jake Plummer is supposedly out of a job, it will provide an excellent opportunity to put in Cutler at QB. Oh, and thanks a lot stupid defense, receivers, and running backs for sucking as well. I had to tape Grey's since I was watching the game, but really, at least I only wasted about half my time because I got to fastforward through the commercials.

I can't even decide whether the Broncos or Grey's should get to be the icon for this post because they both suck so much.  So, I guess, I pick Statler and Waldorf because their biting commentary seems rather appropriate.

to some character consistency. Here's my Grey's reaction post. I usually let it stew over night because I'm usually pissed off right after the episode airs, but I figure since Shonda and Co. keep pissing me off, it must be how I really feel.

Now, I'm going back to watch some X-Files because the only thing that makes me angry about that show is that it isn't on anymore.  I was watching the Season 5 extras this afternoon and realized that exactly nine years ago today I was watching my first "live" X-Files season premiere, and I was captivated.  And maybe I'll watch General Hospital one more time.  Because today, for the first time in a very long time, Sonny smiled.  At Alexis. *squee*

Hee...I'm so excited that I found something that TOTALLY restored my Maddison love. :)

Hmm...this got kinda long again.  So, you know, whatever.

Dude, seriously!

So here are my post-Grey's musings, but they are definitely going to be long, definitely going to be ranty, and probably are going to be confusing because I haven't quite wrapped my brain around what the hell happened last night. So, please, feel free to comment to help me sort it out.

Shut up )

Edited to add: I think maybe I'll just go with the notion that everyone was acting contrary to their character last night and hope that the two weeks until the next episode will make me feel better.

Edited to add again: I've reconsidered some of my musings in light of some new information.  So go here to read them.

Some random, lingering Grey's thoughts...

So while watching, rewatching, and watching again last week's episode, there is one tiny thing that really bothered me--how is it that Meredith is in her mid-twenties (and a freakin' doctor) but can't manage to make it to the bathroom to toss her cookies, uh, like, TWICE?! I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I puked somewhere that wasn't in a toilet. By the time you're, about oh, 12, most people have a pretty good idea that they're gonna be losing it and generally make it to the bathroom, or at least a semi-discreet trash can or something. She seems to make it to the crapper just fine after all of her super-slutty tequila-binges. So how did Meredith end up hurling on the floor, in the hospital, in front of everyone, TWICE?! "Eehh, look at me, I'm sick. Pay attention to me! I haven't whined in five whole minutes. Waah." Shut up, whore.

On another note, I can't decide between "Follow You Home" and "Far Away" (both by Nickelback on the same cd, isn't that convenient?) as my personal Maddison anthem. Maybe they'll just have to share the honor.

How much do I love Eric Dane?! Anyway, after I had some time to digest (and rewatch the episode), I think I have made my peace with last night's Grey's. I'm sure this will be long and rambley, so proceed only if you have nothing better to do.

And Happy Birthday to Kate and to Chris Carter...my homeboy forever!

Dude, Addison is quickly approaching that Alexis/Scully/Tamara threshold of best TV characters ever. She does meet all the (apparent) requirements: female, brilliant, bitter, gorgeous, and totally screwed-up. I definitely liked her before, but that stunt with the underwear last week was priceless. And this week with the drunk and the McSteamy...girl's got it goin' on!

P.S. can anyone tell me how to do a livejournal link to a group?

It's Thursday...

and Grey's Anatomy starts tonight. I really hate that I seemed to be addicted to that show when I didn't even like it when it started. My mom just kept watching it, and now I can't seem to stop watching, even if I want to. Really, the only problem I have with it is slutty, whiny, ungroomed Meredith and all the talking about how McDreamy is such a great guy when he lied about being married (because while physically separated, it's established later that ADDISON filed the divorce papers, so he's not "free" in any capacity) to a woman he supposedly loved and then continually undermines his marriage with her while trying to work it out. Not to mention the fact that he pursued Meredith when she repeatedly asked him not to. Not endearing, dude. This is her career we're talking about. AND YOU'RE MARRIED! Just get rid of those two, and I'd be a happy camper.

And, I'm cautiously optimistic about Whitney Houston finally getting her head out of her ass and making some decent tunes. I mean, she is dumping (hopefully!) that loser, and I heard on the TV that she was out recently and looked very "healthy" and is reportedly making a record with Clive overseeing. He wouldn't let her make crap, right?
